PETE COLLINS
CO-FOUNDER

Pete has spent the majority of his professional life in the fitness industry. Early on in his career, he served as a Physical Instructor and Boxing Coach in the Royal Navy. One of his biggest passions was looking after the Royal marines and sailors boxing team from Scotland. 

 

After moving to Qatar in the summer of 2013, Pete's focus turned to his new venture Crossfit Oryx, which he built into one of the most successful fitness centers in Doha. 

In 2021 Pete was looking for a new challenge. He teamed up with ORX Sports co-founder Sean Perry to start a new fitness academy that would bring the sport of boxing to people of all ages. Pete is excited to get back to the world of boxing and help bring the boxing club culture to Qatar. 

SEAN PERRY
CO-FOUNDER

Sean has been in the fitness industry since the tender age of 15. He has spent many years working as a personal trainer, specializing in strength and conditioning, boxing, K1 and Muay Thai.

His true passion has always been Muay Thai Boxing. Sean spent 7 years building his professional fighting career, during which he participated in twenty-four professional bouts winning two British and one Commonwealth Title. 

Sean has long been offering boxing classes to the Doha community through the Underdogs Boxing Club. He hopes to continue introducing the sport of boxing to people of all ages through ORX Sports.

SARA VARELA
COACH

Sara discovered her passion for boxing at the age of 16 after taking a "BodyCombat" class, that same day she decided to pursue boxing as a career. 

In 2009, Sara won the Paulista Championship and was the Vice Champion of the Open Games in Brazil. In 2010 and 2012, she won the Sao Paolo Championship. In 2013 she discovered MMA and started Jiu Jitsu and wrestling training. By 2014 she had her first MMA fight and in 2016, she won an MMA title belt. She then took some time off to focus on her family. 

 

A year later she started training again; now including Crossfit as part of her routine. In 2018, Sara once again became the Sao Paolo Champion. Later that year she moved to Qatar, where she has been working as a trainer for kids and adults introducing the sport of boxing to the masses.
